Hi, I'm Helen! I'm a self-taught baker who after making many, many cakes at home for all occasions took the leap to set up my own bakery. I operate from home using my Little Oven (hence the name) and every cake is crafted in detail with my own two hands.
I offer big cakes for all occasions, as well as baked goods from the cake shed I operate at home.
I also deliver monthly (mega) stuffed cookies across the whole of the UK via Royal Mail (free postage and packing).
Frequently asked questions
How do I place an order?
Simply get in touch using the contact form on my website. I’ll discuss your ideas, availability and provide a quote before confirming your booking.
How much notice do you need?
The more notice, the better—especially during busy periods. As a minimum, I require at least 2 weeks in advance where possible. Last-minute orders may be accommodated depending on availability.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Your order is only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
I can discuss certain dietary requirements. Please note that if you have allergies including gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts, I cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment and as such I do not recommend ordering from my bakery.
Do you offer delivery?
All custom cakes are collection only. Collection details and a convenient time will be arranged with you before your collection date. Delivery is included within a 20 mile radius (from Chorley) for all dessert tables and wedding cakes.
Can you recreate a cake from a photo?
I’m happy to use inspiration from photos while creating a cake that’s unique to you. Exact copies of another baker’s work may not be possible.
How much do your cakes cost?
Each cake is individually priced based on the size, design and level of detail. You can obtain a rough quote by completing the enquiry form.
Can I make changes after I’ve booked?
Changes may be possible if requested in a timely manner. Once work has started or supplies have been purchased, changes may not be possible or additional charges may apply.
Do you offer nationwide delivery?
Yes! Cookie boxes are available as postal orders once a month and can be sent across the UK.
When are postal orders dispatched?
Postal cookie orders are dispatched the Friday following your order, and will arrive in 24-48 hours.
How long do the cookies stay fresh?
Cookies are best enjoyed within 5–7 days of arrival when stored in an airtight container. They can also be frozen for later enjoyment.
What areas do you offer dessert tables?
Dessert tables are available for events within a 20-mile radius of Chorley.
What events do you cater for?
I create dessert tables for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, corporate events, anniversaries and other special occasions.
What’s included in a dessert table?
Each dessert table is tailored to your event and can include a selection of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, traybakes and other sweet treats. You are able to view the range of items offered under the menu section of the website.
Do you set up the dessert table?
Yes. I will deliver and professionally set up your dessert table before your event starts.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment details will be provided when your booking is confirmed.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please contact me as soon as possible. Depending on the notice given, any remaining balance may be refunded.
When is the final balance due?
The final balance of your order is due 7 days prior to the collection/delivery date.
What if I need to change my collection date?
If you need to change your date, please let me know as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to accommodate the change, subject to availability.
Do you have a food hygiene rating?
Yes. My kitchen is registered with the local authority and complies with current food hygiene regulations. I operate under a 5* hygiene rating awarded by Chorley Council.
